Retiring Koontz Lake Firefighter to be Honored Saturday

Retiring Volunteer Firefighter Robert L Fraine will be honored this Saturday at the Koontz Lake Association Clubhouse from 2:00-4:00 p.m. CT.

Fraine will be honored for 50 years of service to his community and surrounding townships. He has held every office within the Koontz Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He has devoted thousands of hours to training, responding to calls and fund raising activities.

Robert Fraine joined the department in August of 1960, and has seen it grow from a small station with two trucks and a small group of men to respond with little or no training, to one with maximum training and the ability to protect 36 miles of Oregon Township, and help out in adjoining townships when needed.

This is a milestone and a first for the Koontz Lake Department. We at WKVI would like to thank Robert L. Fraine for his 50 years of service.
