Starke County Relay for Life Event Chair, Megan Hamand, says the Starke County Relay for Life is right around the corner.
“The event this year is June 10th and 11th at the Starke County Fairgrounds,” explained Hamand. “The soft opening is at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10th. The official opening and the opening ceremony is going to be at 6:00 p.m. We’ve got events going all night: ceremonies, live entertainment, games, music, and the live auction again which is always a big event.”
This year’s theme is “Relay Getaway” and all campsites will be decorated for a specific vacation destination and participants will be dressed and ready for a relay getaway. Megan has more information on the event if you need to start up a team.
“During the day I work at KeyBank so you can call me there at 772-2144. We also have a great website. There is a lot of information on the different teams. You can join a team, make a donation, you can start your own team and it’s not to late to any of those things.”
Approximately $25,000 has been raised so far. 37 teams will be participating and there’s always room for more. Call Megan at 772-2144.
