Walkerton Fourth of July Celebration Begins Today

Going back to the 1950’s, Walkerton, Indiana has been one of the places to be over the 4th of July weekend. This year is no exception and it all gets started today with the Independence Day Parade at 7:30 p.m. ET. The parade will begin at the Urey Middle School and ends at the John Glenn High School. There’s plenty of weekend fun, so grab a schedule, and enjoy some of the events.

The culmination of the weekend festivities will be the fireworks celebration at 10:15p.m. ET, at the high school, on July 4th.

We’ve been telling you about the Ice Cream Social at the Historical Museum in Knox on Sunday. Ted Hayes talked with Jim Kersting yesterday, and he’s bringing a 1949 MG. Jim says it’s just like the one owned by the late Roy Orbison. So you’ll want to see that Sunday at the Ice Cream Social from 1:00-3:00 p.m. CT at the Sarke County Museum at 401 South Main Street in Knox.
