Two Arrested on Active Warrants; Drugs Found at Residence

Joseph Dillard
Melissa Dillard

Starke County Sheriff’s Department officers got more than they bargained for when they served arrest warrants to Joseph and Melissa Dillard this week.

On Monday, officers approached their Knox home where they found Joseph Dillard and told him that they were there to serve an arrest warrant. When the officers entered the residence, they saw a plastic bottle of Coleman fuel along with aluminum foil, Ziploc bags and used coffee filters, all common items used when manufacturing or using methamphetamine. Officers later obtained a search warrant and officers found more items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Items were collected for testing by the Indiana State Police Crime Lab.

Joseph Dillard was taken into custody on an arrest warrant and has additional preliminary charges of Possession of a Syringe and Possession of Paraphernalia. Melissa Dillard was not at the residence when police initially arrived on scene, but she did later return to the residence and was taken into custody on an arrest warrant. She was also charged with Possession of a Syringe and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Their arrest warrants were issued from Knox City Court for the overpurchase of Pseudoephedrine.
