West Central School Superintendent, Charles Mellon, said the wind turbine project is moving along. The cement has been poured and needs to cure for 30 days before above ground construction can begin. The School Board hopes the project is complete by the end of November.
The School Board members also approved the 2012 budget at their meeting last week. A total budget of $9.1 million was adopted, which is a $400,000 loss from 2011.
The Board discussed enrollment and the Corporation lost 38 students this year. This means a loss of over $225,000 for this school year in tuition. About 53% of the students are on free and reduced lunch.
