North Judson-San Pierre Academic Super Bowl Team

The North Judson-San Pierre Academic Super Bowl team became the Academic Super Bowl champions of the Northwest Hoosier Academic Conference at River Forest on Tuesday, March 13, after scoring 78 total points in six events, answering questions concerning Colonial and Revolutionary America.

First place finishes went to the Fine Arts, Mathematics, and Interdisciplinary squads. The English squad finished in second, the Science squad in third, and the Social Studies squad in seventh.

One week prior to the Conference competition, the Bluejays competed at the Winamac Academic Super Bowl Invitational in which they won first place in Fine Arts and Social Studies, third in Interdisciplinary, and sixth in English, Science, and Mathematics.

The NJ-SP Academic Super Bowl team will compete again on Tuesday, April 17, in the NJ-SP Auditorium at the Area Academic Super Bowl, the qualifier for the State Competition.

The members of the 2012 team are Alexa Alva, Summer Bennett, Rachel Brent, Tyler Durfey, Brian Eckert, Cody Hendershott, Jon Hileman, Lily Howard, Chris Lippelt, Lee Lukac, Rhiannon Millard, Joshua Mullens, Rebecca Mullens, Amanda Rodriguez, Austin Stacy, Alec Tucker, and John Zeller. The squads are coached by Mrs. Sheila Akers (Fine Arts) Mrs. Melanie Gardner (English), Mr. David Kellam (Mathematics), Mrs. Donna Keller (Science), and Mrs. Kim Miller (Social Studies).
