Click It Or Ticket Blitz To Continue Through June 3

Several police agencies in the state, including the Starke County Traffic Safety Partnership and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, are participating in the Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement blitz until June 3.

Pulaski County Sheriff Michael Gayer says his department will be out in full force.

“Traditionally, Memorial Day weekend is a busy weekend for motorists,” explained Gayer. “It is a law in Indiana to wear your seat belt. The officers get paid by the federal government on their days off to go out and try to enforce the seat belt law more rigorously than they would normally do during the normal course of their duties just because it is a busy holiday.”

The officers all have one common goal during this enforcement.

“Our ultimate goal is to see that people arrive to their destination and arrive back home safely,” said Gayer.

No warnings will be given out during this particular seat belt campaign. All unrestrained motorists will receive a ticket.
