Eleven Drivers Arrested By State Police Lowell District in DUI Effort

Indiana State Police troopers recently joined forces with six other law enforcement groups in six states to participate in a DUI enforcement initiative.

Indiana State Police Lowell District troopers arrested 11 drivers for Operating While Intoxicated. Two were arrested for Reckless Driving and 198 were issued tickets – 30 of those for restraint violations.

Police took 21 suspended drivers off the roadways during the enforcement and 12 criminal arrests were made over the two-day period.

This high-visibility enforcement effort included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police, Michigan State Police and West Virginia State Police.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police remain committed to reducing crashes, educating Hoosiers on the main causes of crashes and patrolling in high crash areas.
