Pulaski County Commissioners Approve Several Expenses

The Pulaski County Commissioners approved a number of departmental expenses this week.

Ed Fleury of the Veteran Service Office requested the commissioners sign a lease for a Xerox ColorQube 8700 – a multifunction printer that he says his office requires. On average, Fleury says his office needs to make at least 500 copies per month, and because they currently have no copier, he has been going to the Health Department to use their equipment. However, Fleury says sometimes the office is closed and he is out of luck.

Fleury says the lease would cost about $100 per month for a color copier. The black and white copier would be slightly less expensive, saving the county $25 per month, but he says his department needs to use color from time to time. He says the only difference between this multifunction printer and his previous one is that this new model uses solid ink, not liquid.

The commissioners approved Fleury’s request to lease the ColorQube for $100 per month.

EMA Director Larry Hoover was also given permission to spend up to $3000 to install chain-link fencing around their generator. He says he estimates the cost to be around $2400, and he says this department will put up strips on the chain-link fencing to prevent people from seeing through the fence. The commissioners also approved a grant agreement for their narrow-band radios in response to the county council’s decision to appropriate their $17,000 match to the grant.
