Middle School Students To Collect Items For Sandy Victims

The middle school students in Starke County will be collecting items for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

On Sunday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon, students will be collecting personal hygiene items, socks, blankets, diapers and writing paper, envelopes and stamps to those who need help after being displaced by the hurricane.

When you bring in your donation, you will be entered into a raffle as a thank you for your contribution.

Light refreshments will be served.

Starke County Detective and Knox Fire Chief Kenny Pfost, who is a member of the District 2 Task Force and who was one of the first Incident Management Teams on scene in New York after Hurricane Sandy hit, helped coordinate this effort along with Knox Mayor Rick Chambers.

Take your donation to the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon.
