The final figure has been released from the Second Annual Oscar Cowen Golf Outing held last month.
More than $1,700 was raised to benefit the Christina Rotering and Ashley Derrickson Memorial Fund for Starke County Cancer.
The Memorial Fund is held by the Starke County Community Foundation and provides short-term assistance to Starke County individuals and families who struggle financially as a result of a cancer diagnosis. The fund also honors the lives of two Starke County high school students who fought cancer.
Since its inception, the fund has helped eight Starke County cancer patients receive assistance.
To donate to the Memorial Fund, contact Sarah Origer at the Starke County Community Foundation office at 772-3665. To receive assistance, contact Community Services of Starke County, Love INC or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
