Knox School Board To Hold Project Hearing Tonight

Superintendent A.J. Gappa

The Knox Community School Board will have a project hearing and a preliminary determination hearing regarding the elementary school project tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT in the Administration Office. During this hearing, public comments will be heard.

The board will be discussing a possible referendum for an elementary school building project during that meeting.

In a special meeting held in November, Superintendent A.J. Gappa said a Political Action Committee (PAC) was created to work toward the success of that referendum.

“A retired teacher, Dave Bullock, has volunteered to be chairman of the PAC; Kasey Clark, a former Knox student, has volunteered to be the treasurer of the committee and another former Knox student who is the director of the SCILL Center, Jerry Gurrado, volunteered to be co-chairman when Mr. Bullock asked for some help.”

The group has already started to work together to develop a website and has formed a committee named, “Whatever it Takes.”

The project hearing and preliminary determination hearing will precede the board’s regularly scheduled meeting.
