Starke County Sheriff: “All Wreckers are out on the Roads!”

Starke County Sheriff’s Department personnel are busy tending to many accidents around the county due to the hazardous and slick conditions.  A few inches of snow have fallen in Starke, Pulaski and Marshall Counties and emergency personnel are working to respond as quickly as possible.

Starke County Sheriff Oscar Cowen said that all wreckers are out trying to help those drivers who have slid off the roadways.  He indicated that if you slide off the road and need assistance, it may be a while before help may arrive.

Two people were transported to IU Health Starke Hospital after a two-vehicle accident on Toto Road and 550 East in Knox this morning.  The woman who was driving a minivan and a man driving a pickup collided at that intersection.  The woman had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Jaws of Life.  We will get more information about this accident as it becomes available.
