Former LaPorte County Man Arrested as Suspect in String of Burglaries

A former LaPorte County man has been arrested as a suspect in several burglary incidents that occurred in January in 2012.

Jason Hurt, 33, has been wanted for an outstanding warrant for violating his probation, and on Dec. 28, officers with the LaPorte County Detective Bureau and the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit learned that Hurt was at a home in rural LaPorte.

Police arrived at a home in the 4800 East block of County Road 200 South and Hurt was found hiding in the garage and was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation found that Hurt was allegedly involved in several residential burglaries that took place in LaPorte County in January of last year. Along with the warrant, two counts of Residential Burglary, a Class B Felony, were filed against Hurt. His bond is set at $4,505.
