Free Cervical and Breast Cancer Screenings Offered by IU Health

A glucose and blood pressure screening was recently completed by IU Health Starke Hospital Wellness Specialist Crystal Sanders at the hospital in Knox. The screenings are part of an ongoing effort by the hospital to keep Starke County residents informed about conditions that could become problematic if left undetected.

The next screening conducted by Crystal Sanders will be Wednesday, Jan. 16 when she will be attending the next Coffee With Dave event at the Country Kettle Restaurant in Knox. Attending will be Red Hat members, but the screening is open to the public.

Sanders also has another important screening scheduled this month.

“It’s our free cervical and breast cancer screening and it runs from Jan. 14 to 17,” explained Sanders. “We have sites in Plymouth, New Carlisle, Knox, LaPorte and Michigan City. To schedule that appointment, give us a call at (219) 326-2073.”

The screenings will be conducted for two days at two sites in Knox.

“Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 1-5 p.m. and that’s at Dr. Browne’s office, and Jan. 16 from 1-4 p.m. and that’s at Dr. Strachan’s office.”
