Starke Commissioners Looking to Replace Highway Superintendent

Steve Siddall

Starke County is on the hunt for a new highway superintendent, after the commissioners this week decided it was “time to make a change,” according to Starke County Commissioner Kathy Norem. Steve Siddall had held the position of highway superintendent for the last four years, but the commissioners decided it was time to switch it up in the best interest for the county.

Siddall was notified of the commissioners’ decision after their meeting Monday and has since been removed from his position. For the time being, Norem explained Scott Dedloff, a foreman for the county, is filling Siddall’s stead as interim highway superintendent, while Bill Crase holds the responsibilities of interim foreman.

Norem said the county will now advertise its search for interested individuals before conducting interviews and finding Siddall’s replacement. She said she doesn’t expect to have any applicants ready to be reviewed by the next meeting, but said the commissioners expect to review possible replacements at their first meeting in February.
