The community in which the Oregon-Davis school is situated is rich in agriculture and students are celebrating that fact this week during National FFA Week.

Superintendent Dr. Steve Disney said agriculture teacher Jacob Riley and his students have several activities planned for the week.

“It’s great tradition,” said Disney. “Mr. Riley and his students, on Thursday, will provide a staff breakfast. On Friday, all of the students are hosting a petting zoo. They can bring in a lot of their farm animals here and the elementary students get to go out and see the different agricultural livestock that the students bring in.”

The school board and entire Oregon-Davis school corporation take pride in their strength in being an agricultural community.

“We’ve been very, very proud of our program and the students who have received a number of awards throughout the last few years who regularly compete at the state and national levels. Mr. Riley runs a terrific program here,” said Disney.
