Auditions to be Held Soon for Michiana’s Rising Star

Do you think you have the talent to be a rising star?

WNIT is sponsoring a Rising Star competition, a one-hour television series that aims to find talented people in the area. Open auditions will be held in one of five regional locations: Culver Academy; Lerner Theatre in Elkhart; Warsaw High School; the Mendel Center in Benton Harbor, Mich.; or the Kroc Center in South Bend. The deadline to register is March 31.

Complete the online application and send a DVD, if desired, to the WNIT station in South Bend. During your open audition, judges will review your four-minute performance and inform you as to whether you have been chosen to proceed to the next round. If you are chosen, you will be given information on when you will perform in front of regional judges. If you are one of five performers chosen at the regional level, you will continue the live broadcast show. You will need to commit to be able to perform from July 29 through Aug. 2 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. ET.

First prize is a cash award of $1,000 plus a chance to create a demo tape in the Ganey Studio and co-host an evening with Gordy Young on Experience Michiana. Second prize is a cash award of $500 plus the co-hosting opportunity.
