The North Judson-San Pierre School Board this week recognized three employees during the “Bluejay Way” portion of their meeting. One employee was recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty, while the other two

Superintendent Lynn Johnson explained that the board recognized custodian Linda Harrison for stepping up to the plate when her supervisor took some time off.

“Our director of facilities was out on medical leave and Linda stepped up to the plate and did just a wonderful job helping us out, so we wanted to recognize her,” Johnson said.

The other two recognitions, Johnson said, were dedication awards – one of which was presented to Deb Bolen, who is being recognized by the Indiana Hall of Fame as part of the Silver Anniversary Team.

“Deb is not only a former player; she’s one of our teachers at the middle school, a coach, she is a collegue and a friend to many and we wanted to recognize that dedication,” said Johnson.

The other staff member who was honored at the meeting was Kevin Cox, who served as high school varsity football coach for ten years. While he has since resigned from that position, he is still with the corporation as the assistant principal. Johnson said he still does a wonderful job and continues to mentor children, making a difference in his field.
