Second District Republicans Elect Officers

 
 
The Republican Second Congressional District Committee reorganized this weekend, electing officers for a new four-year term on Saturday at the Monitou Banquet Center in Rochester.

Due in part to this experience serving as treasurer and vice chairman of the district,the committee elected Samuel J. Frain of Winamac as chairman by an unanimous vote. Frain had first been elected chairman two years ago. For vice chair, the committee elected Dr. Deb Fleming of South Bend, who also serves as the chairwoman of the St. Joseph County GOP. Janet Corwin of Peru will serve as secretary, while Fulton County Chair Chad Hartzler of Akron will serve as treasurer.

The Second District Committee is made up of the county chairs and vice chairs of St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Starke, Fulton, Pulaski, Miami, and Wabash counties, while LaPorte and Kosciusko counties are also represented on the committee.

Meanwhile, the Starke County Central Committee re-elected all four of their officers: Brenda Stanojevic will serve as chairwoman, Don White as vice chairman, Talia Reed as secretary, and Don Johnson will fill the role of treasurer.

The state will hold their Caucus on Wednesday.
