Next week is National Library Week and several programs are planned at the Henry F. Schricker Public Library in Knox.

A WKVI reporter will be on the scene for the “Discover Chocolate – A Sweet Treat” presentation on Wednesday April 17 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the library in Knox. The program will be presented by Savannah Gohr, representative of Dove Chocolate Discoveries. Sign up for this program by April 15.

The same reporter will be a judge of the Cupcake Challenge on Thursday, April 18. The theme is how our libraries show that our community matters to us. Participants are required to submit three dozen regular cupcakes made from scratch or mixes – all should be the same flavor and frosting. Seven will be used for the judging. Cupcakes should be submitted from 9-10 a.m. and judging will take place from 10-10:30. The entry forms are available at the circulation desks of each of the branch libraries of Starke County Public Library System.

Finally, a video tour of the Starke County Courthouse will be presented on Thursday, April 18 from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Starke County Public Library, Knox branch. This will be presented by Starke County Historical Society President Jim Shilling and Vice President and Ron Vendl, and Ed Hasnerl, state-appointed Starke County Historian.
