End of the School Year Approaches at Knox Schools

The end of the school year is approaching quickly and High School Principal Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff gave the Knox Community School Board an update on senior activities for the next few days.

A meeting was scheduled earlier this week to discuss dress codes for graduation and laptops will be turned in later this week. The computers will be inspected by the technology staff to note any damage for insurance claims. Students are accountable for the equipment.

The Senior Honor Day is set for Friday morning at 8 a.m. with a special breakfast at 7 a.m. The seniors will put on their cap and gowns and will assemble in the high school gymnasium to receive scholarships and other honors. Several organizations and scholarship donors will be present to distribute awards to senior students. After the Honors Day, the seniors will be able to utilize the gym or the swimming pool to spend time together as a class one more time before graduation.

Commencement will be Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m. CT where a former graduate, Dana Blythe, will give the commencement address. She works in the Chicago area with the Nurses and Medical Group and is involved in many philanthropic efforts.

Ratliff stated that there are some students on the bubble of graduating and are making efforts to get them remediated and graduated.
