IU Health’s Day of Community Service Set for Friday

Staff members from IU Health Starke Hospital and employees and volunteers from the city of Knox will be joining together to participate in the hospital’s Day of Community Service.

The volunteers will be meeting in Wythogan Park at Pavilion #2 at noon on Friday to pick up brush and to paint railing in the park.

To help keep Starke County moving forward and to improve health, IU Health Starke Hospital installed a new sidewalk by the Yellow River bridge in Wythogan Park that travels up to U.S. 35. Exercise equipment will also be installed in the park.

Employees at IU Health LaPorte County will also be participating in an event in LaPorte as part of the 2013 Day of Community Service which is spearheaded by IU Health’s Strength That Cares.

During last year’s Day of Community Service, IU Health volunteers helped build 25 frames for Habitat for Humanity homes.
