The Oregon-Davis School Board recently named a new high school principal to take the place of Greg Briles.

Tim Pletcher has been in education for the past 19 years and has spent his entire career at South Bend schools – mainly at Washington High School. He completed his undergraduate work at IUSB and he got his Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois. He also completed a doctorate at the University of Illinois and licensing at Indiana Wesleyan.

He has been in the English Department at Washington High School and has coached different sports while at the school.

He has recently been credited with turning around the Washington High School test scores to avoid a state takeover.

Pletcher stated that the Oregon-Davis position will be an opportunity for him to grow in administration and have a chance to work in a small school environment. He added that he has a lot of experience in curriculum and instruction and the one thing that appealed to him about the Oregon-Davis is that the school has the same issues that face his current school. He will be able to use his expertise to improve test scores.

Pletcher is looking forward to creating positive relationships with the community and the staff.

He will begin his new challenge at Oregon-Davis schools in the fall.
