The North Judson-San Pierre School Board met Monday night and approved a number of action items, including the adoption of a textbook series for the corporation’s new Business Math class. Superintendent Lynn Johnson explained the board adopted Pearson Scott Foresman for kindergarten through fifth grade as well.

On top of that, the board approved the student handbooks for the 2013-2014 school year in addition to the summer enrichment program at the elementary school and the budget calendar.

A new football coach was also introduced to the board. Johnson said Kirk Kennedy will serve as both the football coach as well as the Physical Education teacher, coming to the corporation from Bloomington South where he served for three years. Before that, he was employed at Lowell High School.

Finally, Johnson said the corporation will participate in the USDA Summer Food Service Program from June 10 to July 11, with breakfast served from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. CT and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CT in the North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School. Meals are free for those aged 18 years and younger. Adults may eat lunch for a small fee.
