The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce and Refined are teaming up to host a Spring Expo in an effort to promote local business. The expo is planned for May 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Refined in Winamac at 102 N. Monticello St. There is no fee to set up a booth.
Angie Anspach said this is the first time the Chamber has held such an event, but they’re hoping to make it an annual expo to promote local businesses every year.
“What we’re wanting to do is just promote local business and try and keep them in the lime light and just help local business out with free advertising, there’s no cost for booth space, so everything is free just to come and show your products off,” said Anspach.
A number of local businesses have already requested booth space, including Once Upon a Wedding, Close to My Heart, Human Services, Community Foundation, Hickory Creek, Mary Kay, and several others. Anspach said a new bakery in Winamac will provide free samples of some of their baked goods for visitors to taste as they roam around the expo.
Anspach said this is an event she had wanted to hold for the last several years, but it didn’t come together until this year.
“I’ve wanted to do it for quite a while, for a couple years, and it just never worked out. I told the Chamber board what we are about is promoting local business, small businesses, and we need to get on it and we need to get it done and we need to do it for them to show that we do support small and local business,” said Anspach.
The expo will take place Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For booth space, email Angie Anspach at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (574) 270-0016.
