Starke Commissioners Approve Grant Application for Community Corrections

The Starke County Commissioners this week approved the 2013-2014 grant application for Starke County Community Corrections following a presentation by Shawn Mattraw who explained that the grant application remains essentially unchanged, aside from operational improvements that Mattraw said he is hoping will improve the agency’s outcome and results.

The Community Corrections Advisory Board had previously reviewed the actual budget, and Mattraw presented it to the commissioners for their review and approval. Currently, he explained the organization has a budget deficit of $137,000, but that amount is made up for with user fees.

Mattraw explained that the two-year grant would provide $364,600 for the agency. The commissioners approved a motion to proceed with the application process.
