Indiana BMV to Credit Overcharged Licensed Motorists

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is returning money to licensed drivers.

It was recently discovered that the BMV had been overcharging fees on some operator’s licenses. BMV officials will be offering a credit to every affected motorist’s account.

When you go to your local license branch or go online to www.mybmv.com, that credit will be noted when you conduct any transaction. The final charge will reflect that credit.

BMV Commissioner R. Scott Waddell stated that it’s important to return the overcharge to those who have been affected and it’s the “right thing to do”.
