“First of all, we want to get out the message of individuals that we have warrants on. We have over 1000 outstanding warrants and we do see a lot of the people that we have warrants are for Failure to Appear warrants for their charges, so to help us in law enforcement, the public are our eyes and ears and we just want to enhance that,” said Chamberlin.
The “most wanted” list includes individuals who have warrants out for their arrest for a variety of charges, the most common of which is failure to appear for a court hearing. The most recent lists consists of Julio Cesar Torres Cruz; Lizeth Faviola Martinez Arroyo, who has been sought by the department for failure to appear since 2011; Jason Lee Christlieb, who is wanted for dealing and manufacturing methamphetamine; and Jeffrey Patrick Moriarty, a man wanted for dealing narcotics to an underage person earlier this year.
Chamberlin said that since the list was posted, Jeffrey Patrick Moriarty has been apprehended, which reinforces the idea behind posting their most wanted.
“If we have that available to the public, they can see and maybe recognize or know who one of those individuals are, and that we want them to call their local law enforcement so we can check into it further,” said Chamberlin.
