Starke County 4-H Fair Officially Opens Today

 
 

The Starke County 4-H Fair officially kicks off today at the fairgrounds in Hamlet!

The 4-H club parade begins at 6 p.m. which will be immediately followed by the opening ceremonies in the show arena. The 4-H club and 4-H leader recognitions will be made along with the announcement of fair board scholarships and Junior Leader scholarships. Ten-year members will be recognized and the 4-H Junior Leader Achievement Royalty will be named.

Royalty candidates include Rachel Lenig, Taylor Kemble, Jamie Salkeld, Katie Back, Kayla Bailey, Katelyn Surfus, Kayla Grossman, Natalie Radtke, and Erica Pick.

Don’t forget the open class bake sale at 5 p.m. in the open class building. The ever-popular pig scramble will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the deadline to register is 6:30 p.m. tonight. That activity takes place in the horse arena. Chuck and Donna will have karaoke on the entertainment patio by the Lions Club building.
