Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign Set During Labor Day Weekend

Indiana State Police Troopers will participate in an Operation Pull Over campaign from Friday, Aug. 16 through Monday Sept. 2. Additional officers will work overtime in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” blitz to rid the roadways of dangerous, intoxicated drivers.

During this two-week enforcement period, troopers will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols targeting impaired and dangerous drivers.

Statistics show that someone dies in a crash involving an impaired driver every 53 minutes. To avoid becoming a statistic, plan ahead and designate a sober driver before consuming alcohol.

Motorists are encouraged to report suspicious drivers by calling 911. Give dispatchers a vehicle description, location and direction of travel. Police ask that you never follow an impaired driver.
