Knox Man Arrested on Burglary, Theft Charges after Incident at USA Cafe

 
 
A man has been taken into custody after a burglary at the USA Cafe in Knox over the weekend.

In the early morning hours on Saturday, the suspect, 22-year-old Michael Hoekman, reportedly entered the building through a window in the rear of the building. He then allegedly stole electronic items worth approximately $1,500.

Knox City police officers reviewed the surveillance video and identified Hoekman. Hoekman was taken into custody at his home in Knox at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. All of the stolen items were recovered.

Hoekman was booked into the Starke County Jail on preliminary charges of Burglary and Theft. Bond has not yet been set in this case.
