LaPorte Police Respond to Overdose Call

LaPorte police responded to another report of a drug overdose this week.

Police were called out Thursday at approximately 2:35 a.m. to a parking lot at Bosserman and Planett Streets as witnesses found an unconscious 28-year-old LaPorte woman.

EMS personnel were able to revive the woman and suspected she overdosed on heroin.

The victim reportedly told police that she was at a local bar when a man handed her a cigarette. She then blacked out and the next thing she knew she woke up in the parking lot surrounded by police and EMS officials.

The victim’s friend allegedly received a call from her earlier; he said she told him that she had a drug problem and needed help.

She was transported to IU Health LaPorte Hospital for treatment.
