The Culver Community School Corporation reports continue growth in their ISTEP+ results, according to Superintendent Brad Schuldt, who explained the corporation reported the highest scores they’ve ever had in combined English/Language Arts and Math scores. In addition, the number of kids passing the test at the elementary school is the highest its been as well, with the highest percentage they’ve had at the high school passing the end-of-course assessments as well.

“As a corporation, we continue to have positive gains, in particular at both Culver Elementary and the high school. We’ve had the highest scores that we’ve ever scored in either ISTEP+ or the end-of-course assessments at the high school. In the middle school, we had some areas that we went up in some areas and went down in others, but generally speaking, we’re pleased with the results and continue to see growth,” Schuldt explained.

The combined scores corporation-wide for the ISTEP+ test came in at 72.7 percent passing, against the statewide average of 73.5 percent. Last year, the combined corporation-wide scores came in at 69.2 percent passing to the state’s average of 72.4 percent.

Schuldt said the corporation continues to focus on closing that gap between their scores and the state averages, and with less than one percent difference, he said they’re making good progress.
