The Healthy Indiana Plan will continue through Dec. 31, 2014.
Governor Mike Pence announced Tuesday that the administration has negotiated an agreement with the federal government to continue with the plan that is the nation’s first consumer-directed plan for Medicaid recipients.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will provide the state with additional tools to manage enrollment so the state can maintain the program’s fiscal sustainability.
Debra Minott, secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, stated that consumer-driven health care lowers costs over time and provides quality to those people who need it.
The Healthy Indiana Plan began in 2008.
