Efforts to get a new superintendent hired at Culver Community School Corporation are still ongoing, and according to soon-to-retire Superintendent Brad Schuldt, a meeting was held last Tuesday with Administrative Assistants, a company hired to conduct the search for his replacement. He said the company will lead the board in the search and interview processes at a cost of $6000, and Schuldt explained the board held an initial meeting with the company on Aug. 27.

Schuldt said the company presented a loose timeline for the hiring process, beginning with an executive session tonight to discuss personnel matters, setting up the requirements for the new superintendent from a personnel standpoint. He said they hope to get the selection made and hired by the very end of November, with a contract signed by Nov. 26. However, the acceptance of applicants has not yet been publicized, but he said they’ll have a time period through most of September to receive applications.

They’re shooting for a due date of Oct. 7 for final applications to be in, he said, and then they’ll be performing the selection of candidates and interviewing in mid- to late October. If everything goes as planned, Schuldt said, the replacement would start Jan. 1.

Schuldt said he has been at the corporation for nearly three decades, and while he’s sad to leave, it’s time for him to retire.
