Hoosier Lottery’s “Lucky Dog” Scratch-off Campaign Benefits Animal Shelters

Hoosier Lottery

The Hoosier Lottery is taking up a noble cause with their new モLucky Dogヤ scratch-off tickets. Hoosier Lottery officials have announced they will be visiting local shelters and retailers around the state, hosting wheel-spin promotions and encouraging the adoption of animals.

At local shelters, donation boxes will be placed allowing visitors to donate unscratched or scratched winning Lucky Dog tickets, or any other Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket, as a way to help the shelter raise funds. In addition, anyone who adopts a pet from a participating shelter will receive a scratch-off ticket while supplies last.

Many animal shelters throughout the state are participating in the program, including the Starke County Humane Society, and Suzanne Crider of the humane society told WKVI that she thinks it’s great that the Hoosier Lottery is lending a helping hand.

モI think it’s fantastic because people do not realize the quality of some of the animals that are surrendered or picked up as strays and brought to us. People a lot of times think that all we have is mixed breeds or they’re old or they’re sick, and to have them raise the awareness and encourage people to contact the shelters and see what is available, I think it’s fantastic that they’re taking the time and effort to do that,ヤ said Crider.

The Starke County Humane Society has Lucky Dog scratch-off tickets available for anyone who adopts an animal. For a full list of participating animal shelters, visit https://www.hoosierlottery.com/games/lucky-dog/local-events–shelters.
