Knox Redskin Brigade Marching Season Steps Off on Right Foot

The Knox Redskin Brigade performed well at the Concord Marching Band Invitational this past weekend.

The band placed first in marching and second overall in the Class C competition.

This year’s Brigade features 82 members – 50 of which play woodwind instruments and 15 students in the percussion section. The 2013 show features various Hitchcock themes including “Psycho,” “The Birds,” “North by Northwest,” and “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”

The Redskin Brigade has had a lot of success in the past 13 years. They are six-time Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Class D Marching Band State Finalists and three-time ISSMA Class C Marching Band Finalists. They were State Champion Runner-up in 2000, 2002 and 2003 in Class D. The Redskin Brigade was also the Bands of America Indiana Regional Class A Champions in 2005. Knox is the first-ever Conn-Selmer All American High School.

The next performance will be Saturday at Penn High School in Mishawaka. The drum majors this year are Josh Enger and Katie Burger.
