Testimony took two days and the jury deliberated for one hour before they found Chizum guilty of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Judge Robert O. Bowen will sentence Chizum in a hearing in mid-October.
Chizum ran a methamphetamine operation out of his garage in the 1000 block of N. Plum St. in Plymouth. An officer noticed a strong chemical smell coming from the structure in January and began a surveillance operation that lasted over a month. The officer saw traffic frequent the area, applied for a search warrant and arrested several people during the search. Those suspects placed Chizum at the scene and Chizum was later arrested on the charges.
