U.S. 6 in Marshall County Reopens

U.S. 6 between U.S. 31 and Lilac Road in Marshall County is now open.

The road has been closed since early June so crews could tear out the old roadway and rebuild a new roadway. Indiana Department of Transportation spokesman Matt Deitchley said this construction was necessary for the new U.S. 31 interchange for U.S. 6.

This will be one of four access points for the new U.S. 31 between Plymouth and South Bend once the new highway is complete.

The road was opened during the Labor Day holiday to alleviate traffic hassles but closed on Tuesday for some last minute details, but reopened to traffic on Wednesday.
