Pulaski Advisory Plan Commission Approves Rezoning Request

The Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission this week approved a request from the Saltzman family to rezone three parcels from agricultural to commercial use. Building Inspector Dave Dare told WKVI that the plan commission held a public hearing and the commission voted unanimously to approve their request.

Gary and Sandra Saltzman approached the board, petitioning to have three parcels located at 8631 S. U.S. 421 in Francesville rezoned from A-1 to C-2 to allow them to open a banquet hall and reception center. Dare said there are already buildings on the parcel that can be used for that purpose with only remodeling necessary.

Down the road, Dare said the petitioners plan to open a bed and breakfast as well. The next step for the couple is to visit the county commissioners at their next meeting to allow the commissioners to review the advisory plan commission’s recommendation. If that’s approved, they must then apply for a building permit before any remodeling is complete.
