Salvation Army Bell Ringers Begin Early This Year

Salvation Army volunteer bell ringers will be starting their holiday chiming early according to coordinator Joe Lopez, who told WKVI that the bell ringers will be at Bailey’s and Five Star in Starke County beginning Nov. 22. Both locations are indoors.

Salvation Army volunteer bell ringers will be stationed throughout the area requesting donations for the organization. Volunteer bell ringers are needed to help raise funds so needy families in Starke County can be assisted financially with basic needs.

According to the Salvation Army website, the bell ringing season starts in November and runs through Christmas Eve. It only takes one shift to raise enough money to provide two nights of shelter and four warm meals for the men, women and children who enter their doors every day.

Community Services of Starke County is the pay-writer but need funds to be able to write the checks. If you are willing to help ring the bell, please contact coordinator Joe Lopez at (574) 772-7499.

Sunday, Dec. 22 marks the last day the bell ringers will be asking for donations.
