Delay in Construction of North Judson Salt Shed

The North Judson salt shed construction has been put on hold, according to Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry, who told WKVI that Town Superintendent Marshall Horstmann received a notice from ClearSpan informing him of the delay. Henry said ClearSpan is constructing the structure for the shed, but due to a shortage of crew members, the work must be postponed.

The concrete floor for the salt shed had previously been finished, followed by the installation of cement blocks on the floor. ClearSpan was then expected to construct the structure for the shed. Materials for the building were to be delivered on Nov. 27 with construction expected to begin on Dec. 3.

However, that delay is now postponing the work, and Henry said it’s possible that the construction could be postponed into January.
