Samuel J. Frain, co-owner of Frain Mortuary in Pulaski County, has recently qualified to become re-certified as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. Frain is also a lifetime member of the academy.

Becoming a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner is funeral service’s national individual recognition, given to those in the profession who have distinguished themselves among their peers as they continue their education to exceed the highest standards of care.

According to a press release from the academy, this achievement is especially notable because Frain has voluntarily chosen to participate in quality educational and service opportunities that far surpass what the funeral service licensing board in Indiana requires.

To initially receive this award, the practitioner must complete a 180 hour program of continuing education activities and events. In addition, the practitioner is required to accumulate 20 hours per year to recertify.
