The Pulaski County Commissioners were presented a contract for the GIS system use.

County attorney Kevin Tankersley reviewed the document for a few minutes and recommended that the approval of the contract be tabled as there isn’t a clear description of equipment use and a fee is not included. The commissioners will discuss the agreement at a future hearing.

The commissioners also tabled a discussion on the fuel credit cards and regular credit card use by county department heads. In a previous meeting, Auditor Sheila Garling said she is opposed to securing these credit cards as other counties have had problems with them. Garling did state in previous setting that if the commissioners moved forward with the acquisition of credit cards, all purchases would need to be approved beforehand to prevent any unexpected purchases.

Terry Young said flat out that he was against the practice. He noted that he does see the need but it would just “open up a can of worms.”

Further discussion will be held on the issue in a future meeting.
