Ryan Blaney’s Race Load Increases with Team Penske

He’s got a full-time ride in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with Brad Keselowski Racing and that’s just the beginning for Ryan Blaney in 2014.

It was announced this week that Blaney, 20, will compete in 15 NASCAR Nationwide Series races for Team Penske and also drive two races in the Sprint Cup Series.

The first Nationwide race for Blaney will be March 22 when he takes the wheel of the No. 22 Ford Mustang at Bristol Motor Speedway. He will drive the No. 12 SKF Ford Fusion in the Sprint Cup Series at Kansas Speedway in May and at Talladega Superspeedway in October.

“I am excited to continue my racing career with Team Penske,” said Blaney. “I’m really looking forward to racing more in the Nationwide Series and it will be a dream come true for me to race in the Sprint Cup Series. I want to thank Roger Penske, our team sponsors and everyone at Team Penske for this opportunity and for believing in me.”

Blaney has raced in select Nationwide Series races for Team Penske since joining the team in 2012. He was the winner of the Kentucky 300 on Sept. 21, 2013 – his only race that season with the team and the first Nationwide Series race win of his career.
