Auditions Approaching for Rising Star Competition

Do you have what it takes to be a star? WNIT is sponsoring a Rising Star competition, a one-hour television series that aims to find talented people in the area. Live auditions will be held in one of four regional locations: Warsaw Community High School, The Lerner Theatre, The Mendel Center, and The Croc Center.

Complete the online application and send a DVD, if desired, to the WNIT station in South Bend. During your open audition, judges will review your four-minute performance and inform you as to whether you have been chosen to proceed to the next round. If you are chosen, you will be given information on when you will perform in front of regional judges. If you are one of five performers chosen at the regional level, you will continue the live broadcast show. You will need to commit to be able to perform from Aug. 4 through Aug. 8, 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. ET.

Live auditions will be held at Warsaw Community High School on April 12, The Lerner Theatre on April 19, The Mendel Center on May 10, and The Kroc Center on May 17.

The first prize for the competition is a cash award of $1000 plus the chance to co-host an evening with Gordy Young on Experience Michiana. Second place will receive a cash award of $500 plus the co-hosting opportunity as well.
