Drug Take Back Event This Saturday in Marshall County

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Bremen Police Department are participating in the DEA Drug Take Back program on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET.

You can take your expired, unwanted or unused medicines for disposal to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at 1400 Pioneer Drive in Plymouth or to the CVS Pharmacy at 1150 W. Plymouth Street in Bremen.

Controlled substances, including ADHD medications will be accepted along with other medicines. New or used needles will NOT be accepted.

In the past 18 months, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has collected 654 pounds of discarded prescription drugs.

The rate of prescription drug abuse is alarmingly high and this Drug Take Back event helps keep medications out of the hands of abusers. Medicines that are left in cabinets lead to accidental overdoses and most are family and friends.

If you can’t make it to this weekend’s event, you may get rid of unwanted medications in secured drop boxes in the lobbies at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Bremen Police Department or Culver Police Department. The bins are available 24 hours a day.
