Marshall County Economic Development Commission Chairman Gives Positive Report to Commissioners

The Marshall County Commissioners heard a report from Marshall County Economic Development Corporation Board Chairman Bill Davis.

Davis explained that 2013 was one of the best years in Marshall County. Over $25 million in investments and businesses came into the county last year. The county has also seen a drop in unemployment and an increase in personal income.

The ground breaking of the shell building that occurred this week will be a great boost to the economy, Davis mentioned. It’s projects like the shell building that show that the county is embracing economic growth. A similar project application is being considered for the Town of Argos.

The Metronet project will also be an asset to improve broadband connectivity and is a positive investment to encourage better communication for business and industry.

The new executive director is on the scene. Jerry Chavez is coming from the North Dakota area and Davis said he has some game changing ideas for economic development.
