Two Arrested in LaPorte for Attempted Armed Robbery

 
 

A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were arrested in LaPorte on Sunday after attempting to get into Little Caeser’s Pizza on Monroe Street.

According to LaPorte police, the employee had just locked the front door to close the business when they arrived. One suspect was reportedly masked and caried a weapon when he tried to open the locked door. When they found the door to be secured, they ran from the business.

A 17-year-old from LaPorte was arrested in the back yard of 2415 Monroe Street and was wearing an empty knife sheath. A large knife was found nearby. He was taken to the LaPorte County Juvenile Services Center.

Nicholas W. Anderson, 18, of LaPorte was arrested at an apartment house in the 500 block of Harrison Street. He was taken to the LaPorte County Jail. The pair have a preliminary charge of Attempted Armed Robbery as a Class B felony.

LaPorte Police also found a large BB gun in the driveway of 121 Evergreen Dr. along with other property allegedly abandoned by the suspects. The case remains under investigation.
